The Guatemala Green recycling program is currently a collection / sorting & storage facility in Antigua. We collect materials for recycling, sort them and store them until we have enough to warrant a pick up from the recycling companies in the city.

The centre is currently based in “El Tigre” next to Mastil on the road out of Antigua towards Ciudad Vieja.

The centre is manned from 9-12 Monday to Friday for people to bring their materials although you can essentially drop materials off any time.

We can also arrange to come and pick up from your place of business once or twice a week. If you want to arrange a pick up of materials please contact:

COSTS

We do not charge for the pick up of materials or indeed for any part of the recycling program including the educational presentations.

We do however ask for your colaboration in seperating and preparing the materials correctly and having them ready in containers for quick and fast removal.

Any money which is made from the recycling of materials goes to paying for the rent of the recycling station and the salaries of staff working there. This project does not yet pay for itself and is currently subsidized by the Viaventure Foundation www.viaventure.org and by Viaventure Travel Company.
